    Dean Club!!!

It is beautiful ! I own a 2009 DOA Transparent green Flying V bass (#10 of 20) It's got creme binding, Grovers and it seems a lot like a V Tour I saw some time ago and am looking to eventually buy. I don't think I've ever seen another one either for sale or mentioned any where.

    Dean Club!!!

I own one of those as well. I remember the seller on Ebay referring to it as a Psycho "Cabbie" bass. I love it, it's got such a full, warm sound plugged or unplugged. Any time someone walks into my music room at the house, they gravitate to it...My guitarist is always trying to borrow it.

Dean DOA 2009 #10 transparent green flying V bass

Does anyone else own one of these ? Supposedly, there were 20 made in 2009. The back of the headstock says #10 of 20. I bought it new with the OHSC for around $700.00 off Ebay back in the day. It's in great condition. My question is, should I be leaving this in the case as it may be worth...

Which Memorable Bass do You Regret NOT Buying?

A Dean Stealth Explorer and a Dean Stealth Flying V bass...they were going pretty cheap new (less than $800). BUT, I just bought a #10 Dean DOA transparent green Flying V bass and I'm sure the Old Lady would've buried me in the corn fields , just like the Spilottro brothers had I tried to sneak...

What was the dumbest thing an audience member ever said to you?

Speaking of solos.....one knucklehead told me I was way too busy playing "Crossroads" a song I had learned from official bass tabs because every other band I had seen attempt to play it, always butchered the ending riff of the song.....wow this thread causes flashbacks...lol.

What was the dumbest thing an audience member ever said to you?

If you've played out for a considerable amount of time..you heard some winners. I remember we played our asses off to little or no response from the audience and we decided to play for ourselves the last couple of songs. Here's a blues rock band playing a beefed up version of "Movin on up" from...

What was the dumbest thing an audience member ever said to you?

Had a guy at a gig tell me he was Berry Oakley's relative of some sort and he could show me a few bass lines if I wanted.

What was the dumbest thing an audience member ever said to you?

Had a friend at a gig in between sets tell me how much he had enjoyed seeing Pat Travers the night before. I asked him if he played "Snorting Whiskey, drinkin' cocaine." (My favorite song of his.) The owner, an older fella of redneck persuasion bellows out..." You try any of that and I'll throw...

    Ever heard of Swing basses?

I bought one a couple of years ago (Gradient Blue) around $ 350.00. I'm pleased with the overall quality. That maple neck is solid and I don't have to fight it to get that R&B, Blues sound. It is a good bass.
