I didn't like the blinking either. It also made a popping sound each time it blinked. I got a Voodoo labs current doubler (not voltage) and now it powers up without the glitching.

Did you ever end up making these mods? I'm also considering putting a Sadowsky preamp and Bartolini B Axis pickups in a player 2 modified V.

I felt the same way when I got mine. It just sounds so damn good. I never turn it off, just fiddle with the settings sometimes. My band mates love it too.

It's a riot. Takes dirt really well too. There's at least one good demo on YouTube. I do recommend a compressor/limiter afterwards though as it throws off some crazy peaks that could damage your speakers.
