If you wear your bass low....can you practice sitting in a chair

I wear my Jazz bass mid-low height for comfort but then I can't play worth a damn sitting in a regular chair...so I perch on the edge of a stool with legs straight until I get a sore butt....then stand up for a while. Is this a problem for other people ? I'm thinking of buying a cheap Mexican...

What's the sexiest bass line or riff ?

Here's a couple of contenders. They both dominated by the heartbeat rhythm Jaimees Cryin' by VH...the main decending one Lovin', Touchin' Squeezin' by Journey...yes, it may be just association 'cause its a Sexy ass song, but what comes first, chicken or the egg

Take good care of your hands!

As a mechanic of 45yrs and a bass player I've had my share of tendonitis and muscle strainproblems...that frozen shoulder thing was the worst. I was watching another old mechanic on Youtube recently who had endless problems with carpel tunnel...and he started Glucosomene and it fixed it...

Just made a thumb rest for my new Jazz Bass

Its not touching the body... only secured on the pickguard with a thin layer of cardboard to avoid scratching ...utilizes the pickguard screws

Just made a thumb rest for my new Jazz Bass

New 1998....well, new to me...I should have polished it but....what do you think? I make them for P bass also. No drilling required...attaches with the pickguard screws in a minute or two.

    Clean hands....can't play

Fast Fret...that's a product?...I'll look into it. Actually someone suggested baby powder...and it clicked...when I played billiards I had to rub that pool hall powder on my left guiding fingers(finicky I guess)...and Ive still got a packet in my volvo glove box.... Thanks Y'all If that doesn't...

    Clean hands....can't play

Let me expand my question....firstly I apologize for assuming everybody had this issue..I was wrong obviously If your hands are dry and oil free there's a bunch more friction on the strings so slides become tricky because it throws off your muscle memory. Your fingers on both hands are hanging...

    Clean hands....can't play

Everybodies noticed I'm sure that immediately after you've washed you hands you can't play worth a damn... How do you cope with this deal....wait half hour till you hands oil up or use lotion or routinely oil the strings ?
