THAT's funny. I'd go with a Ric, Parker, Tobias or Stingray if you're in the $1500 budget range. Or take the advice of others about having something you wouldn't mind catching a beating. .

I dig them...but I mix it up on my basses. I have a passive J and X2NB with an EMG PA-2 to make them as loud as my EMG equipped basses and to lower the impedance, but I've been a fan of EMG's since '86. However...I don't like active pickups AT ALL in a guitar. All my guits are passive. Bass...
