But again, as mentioned earlier in the thread by someone, nobody cares about tone. If we have to bring in an extra sound tech, we might not even break even. And there’s no real advantage because the crowd won’t really notice.

Exactly! Once you get to that level sound techs will make you sound fantastic, it’s really not a problem that plagues pros.

I have one of those and boy does the midrange growl. It still sounds like a jazz bass, but it has CHARACTER. It’s my main player, even against my Fenders and Ibanez basses.

Do it, it’s a blast, and not as hard as a lot of people make it out to be. Also it looks cooler. How can anyone argue against that?!
