Daryl uses a Shure KSM9, and usually the lead vocal of the guest does as well. I'm sure they are more than welcome to use something that's more familiar to them though of course.

Second on this. My drummer has the PSM200, I have a PSM300. They aren't even remotely on the same level. The PSM300 is basically on par with the senny G3, except there is no noise due to it being digital audio over analog RF. There is a small latency introduced there though.

So from first hand experience with this thing, some test equipment, and a set of very common earbuds these things drastically change the frequency response. They drastically squash the high end in the audible frequency spectrum. Whether this result is actually good or bad is up to the user...

Actually, Shure no longer makes the PSM 200 and the PSM 300 is now their entry level system. Still comes with SE215's and a choice between plastic or metal bodypack. Supposedly the audio quality is basically equal to the PSM900. Still pretty new, and there aren't many reviews on it out there.

The bass design makes me think of some of the weapons in the elder scrolls games. I forget what they are called. The dark weapons or whatever. Love the design.

I'll just add to this eye protection. A CF or fiberglass splinter in the eye is just about the worst thing ever. Oddly enough it happened with one of my old hockey goalie sticks.

Absolutely you should sand the poly under the nitro. The nitro will be adhering via a mechanical bond to the poly as opposed to melting into old lacquer and it really needs that scuffing to bond to it. Don't worry about the MOP being shiny as the nitro will fill in the the gaps you create by...

Why the band doesn't at least get a side project going with another lead singer is beyond me. Really enjoyed their first album. It had some great songs with some great bass and guitar playing.
