PSM300TRA (pro) vs Sennheiser EW300 ?

Can't speak to the PSM300, but HAVE compared (and owned) the PSM200 and the EW300 G3 IEM.
Night and day compared to the PSM200 - audio quality, features, etc. - which is why we sold the 200's and now have THREE Senn EW300 G3 IEM systems in our rack. We paid around $700 ea for ours - which is about the same price as the PSM300's. There are some good deals out there if you look for them.
I also use Qi's - until the new A8's arrive in a couple of weeks.

So.. Senn G3 all the way IME!

In an effort to get this post started, I'd like to list a couple concerns and hopefully get some feedback.

I'm concerned about bass response on the Shure product compared to Sennheiser ( quality, articulation, range)?
I've read several posts related to Sennheiser "hiss" ... how big of an issue is this, can it be eliminated and it does the shure have hiss?

Can't address the bass response of the Shure, I'm prefectly happy with my EW300 G3 IEM rig. Like several folks here, I'm using the 1964 Quad IEMs. $2100 worth of Lectrosonics wireless for my bass doesn't hurt.

I've a LOT of upside gain structure implantation with IEM systems of ALL brands.

Again, can't speak for the 300, but there is an inherent "noise" floor in all wireless devices. How you configure [gain stage] your system/device will determine how "bad" [annoying/noticeable] that noise is..

I have the input level on my G3 set to -24db (lower than the default -6db) and I have zero perceptible noise at that level. Almost zero compared to the -6db setting, at which there most definitely is the "noise" to which you refer. To be clear, that "noise" is only there when nothing is going thru the system. When transmitting audio, it's not noticeable even at the -6db [default] levels and won't impact your monitoring experience.
IIRC, that was not adjustable on the PSM200 - don't have a 300 so can't speak to it.

not a fair comparison; the PSM200 is totally "entry level", i don't think it will even do stereo.

the PSM300 is a brand new system, positioned as far as i can tell to be a step up from the old PSM 400 (yeah i know, makes no sense at all), making it several grades better than the old 200.

Second on this. My drummer has the PSM200, I have a PSM300. They aren't even remotely on the same level. The PSM300 is basically on par with the senny G3, except there is no noise due to it being digital audio over analog RF. There is a small latency introduced there though.

yeah, it's still analog RF for the transmitting part, with companding, frequency hopping, the whole thing, there's just digital audio involved at the beginning. (there were specs for everything about it on shure's site, but zero mention of any latency.)

as far as i know real straight-up 2.4G digitally transmitted in-ears aren't really a thing yet.

Ran a friend's psm300tra last night with my 1964Qi. Sounded great, plenty of of head room (body pack ~50% volume).
No noise or hiss.
My buddy had set the system up for himself so I did not setup. Just plug and play.
I can't get my hands on a Sennheiser but I'm not sure it can sound $200 better?
