Do all Warwick necks feel "long"?..

I find that angling the neck upwards, so that the headstock is almost at eye height (think classical guitar position), really helps with the reach. I'm fortunate enough to have a 93 BO and there's not much neck dive, if any. Mind you, I'm a pretty big dude and have the bass body positioned at...

Request Trade It All (Cory Henry) bassline help.

Yelp. I've been requested to play this stellar track in my band and I've come to a dead end trying to use my ears. I'm in a hurry and I need your help, friends. Standard notation or (preferably) tab for the bass line for this song. thank you in advance

    your BASS ?

    1. The ability to cut though the mix with good tone, without getting harsh or maxing EQ settings on the amp. 2. Playability (Good fret-board quality, sound truss rod, bridge that facilitates low action, good ergonomics, minimal neckdive) 3. The first time you plug it in and play a note, you get...

    I messed up.

Alright, for those who have been losing sleep or getting a migraine over this thread, let me put a lid on it. It seems that the SpeakOn cable that works perfectly on my friends cab, doesn't work on mine. The test I did, with the 9 volt battery ( as suggested by someone here) proved that my cab...

I did this and the cab is definitely alive, So yeah its a cable connection issue. Maybe I should go back to the ol' 1/4 connection, since the amp supports it.

Yeah, and as far as I remember, the Taurus actually has protection mode.

Great. Thanks. So I can rule out a "burnt" cab. I'm side eyeing my speaker-cable now, who is the new suspect in this drama.

Yeah, I'm gonna try a new cable tomorrow.

    I messed up.

When I messed up, I ran an 8 ohm Taurus amp, from Poland, so here in the EU that's a thing. I'm gonna try 2 thing tomorrow. Running a new speaker cable on the Markbass and take my 2 amps to a cab I know for sure works, to make sure both my amps are in order. Then I can isolate the problem. If...

lol, ok I stand corrected. But running an 8 ohm amp into a 4 ohm cab is bad news, right?

Hookup is all correct. I DID make a mistake. I hooked a 4 ohm cab to a 8 ohm amp (for a short while) then switched back to my 4 ohm amp, played though the cab for hours with my band. Next day...no sound from the cab. I have run 2 amps (4 ohms) to test it, but to no avail.

An 8 ohm amp will only run at 4 ohms if you plug two 4 ohm cabs (making it 8 ohms impendance) into it, otherwise it's a bad thing to do.

ok that clears up a lot, thanks. So it's not a fuse issue. Then what the dickens might be wrong? I have 2 amps at home, both of them make no sound though the cab, the cables are fine, the impendance is correct, but no sound. It's so strange.
