My new fretted 5 is just incredible. It's a kissin' cousin to my fretless, in that it's basically the same woods (different top though) and same pickups. Brian has different mahogany blanks; the fretless is a darker, denser, heavier mahogany and the fretted is a lighter colored, less dense...

The sound you describe is spot on with the sound I get with my Lollar PB pickup.
