    I'm not sure if Aguliar Tone Hammer is included in that, but the weight and the sound is fantastic! Cannot complain, myself. Guessing it's just personal preference.

    I personally think you can't go wrong with the split coil pu from L. Fralin. Quiet, phat, and growl with the 5% overwind issue. If you don't want the "dig-in" sound, just turn them down a bit on the knobs. Also the Jaco-esque sound is there with the jazz bass....

    I ordered the Fralin 5% overwind, split coil pu's for my 95 Jazz bass. I love them. If you want growl, turn the pu up, if not, turn them down and they can get jazzy-mellow. That over drive sound is what I wanted to be able to get and a slight Jaco-esque sound also. Works great!!

    I have a SL1 12 aguilar and for clarity was think of adding SL 2 10. The amp is the TH 500. Although I'm just starting to get out with gigs now, jury is still out on the additional cab.

    I'm in the same boat. Hearing that growl that MMiller gets on DFagen nitefly lp, make me want those....I understand the 5% overwind can really do the trick from talking to the LF Shop. Yes, they are expensive!
