    Why not try what you propose? Record yourself playing the suggested rhythmic bass line using soloing concept than overdub your solo solo. How does it sound?

    My preference is when switch in the middle with both pickups selected. A pro might be able to chime in on how to best describe the sound. Definitely a fun bass to play.

    Good looking bass - I got the same model in a Tobacco burst colour. It is a great bass, the pickups are quite loud, the neck is comfortable, string spacing generous.

    You are right - the shell chords (I wasn’t familiar with this term) sound pretty good. Cool instrument, the bass 6.

    If you play jazz chords, they can sound pretty good anywhere along the neck. But I hear what you are saying about shell chords. A big fat G chord does not sound that great on bass 6.

    A small compartment on the back the bass where a person could keep those small adjustment tools could be handy.
