    G. Gould Club!

I appreciate the info on it. The profile reminds me a lot of a 98 Quantum I had but it feels like a Moses neck. I’m trying to find one of those Tokai “Carbo” necks to try out too. Gotta catch em all I guess

I just got my hands on a 90s Alvarez Villain guitar with a licensed Modulus neck. @GeoffGould, do you know if these were designed/manufactured by you and or modulus? I’ve heard they were made in house but also that they were purely a work of South Korea and would love some info. Thanks

They’re still fantastic instruments, just a little quirky it seems. I’m very thankful for such a helpful community here.

Thanks for the awesome response! I was able to get ahold of Geoff and he said it was normal as well but I just wanted to see if other were surprised by it as well. I’ve had some tough to adjust wooden necks but this is a whole different level. I got it to move enough to have it where I like it...

Hey, anyone else notice a very difficult to turn trussrod? I had to really crank it to get the relief where I’d like. I know the neck is stiff but it feels like I’m going to break it just to eek out some change.

Did I just damage my neck?

I'll take a free pass! It does only seem to have a half turm or so between the proper relief and the rod being out of range. I can get it into a backbow with about a quarter turn left. Does that sound normal?

You're absolutely right about the patience... Actually did hear a little bit of creaking/ popping, but nothing. I haven't heard adjusting other truss rods that haven't moved in a long time

For whatever reason I can't upload the pictures. I took only screenshots

Thank you guys very much for letting me know. It's probably fine... No issues with the frets or fingerboard as of yet!

Zon basses - is everything OK ?

I might be the only guy to get a Zon back from him relatively close to the time period stated...I sent them an email or 2 every week and left voicemails. Gotta hound them or you won't get anything it seems.

Did I just damage my neck?

Hey, so I may have done something very silly/stupid. I just got a new used guitar (I'm mainly a bassist but branching out..and trust the options of you guys), a Music Man Luke III... For whatever reason, curiosity got the best of me and I got a little overzealous making sure the truss rod was...

Help point me in the direction of some good pickups

Keep the pickups you have. Especially if you want a tone in the realm of to, get a Lusithand onboard filter preamp. It lets you chose your resonant peak and gives you a switch to boost it if you like. I have a no name set of cheap PJ pickups and if you know how to play with the preamp, you can...

    SOLD Walter Custom Jazz Bass

For sale I have a custom jazz bass made by the Walter Bass Company. This is one of their first basses and it's incredible. The neck is perfectly straight, fretwork is as good as PLEK, truss rod works both directions and the truss rod nut has absolutely zero wear. Totally shielded with copper...
