It is almost hard to believe I bought this beauty 9 years ago. Put about 800 shows on it. So happy it has started to collect a few road scars, scratches and dings from the road work. I push her hard and she delivers...

Next show with this band is October Fest downtown Kenosha at the end of September. I am playing in a Grateful Dead band this coming Saturday at Union Park Tavern August 16, then Saturday August 23 at Flints Inn
He responds quickly via Facebook and G. Gould Music or Geoff Gould. He is on here occasionally as well and chimes in. But, Facebook messenger he is pretty quick to respond.
I have been a gear head for a long time. My collection of basses includes basses by many makers including Roscoe, Modulus, G&L, Ibanez, Ernie Ball MusicMan and, of course G. Gould.
My ggi6 sat in the case for quite a long time while I was playing other basses on my gigs. I still use a Bongo 6 on a lot of gigs. I have one Bongo 6 that I got used from Guitar Center and it has a lot of dents and dings on it but it is a superb player and I use it on most of my gigs where the conditions are not the best....you know....crowded little stages in small bars or outside gigs in the Texas Summer heat/humidity.
A while back I decided to play the ggi6 at my church. I use a Mesa Subway D-800+ head and an older Aguilar GS112 cabinet there. The clarity and superb playability of the the ggi6 are perfect for that setting. Wonderful clarity all over the neck and low notes that are inspiring. It also happens to be very light (under 9 pounds) and has a beautiful top that I believe is spalted Myrtle.
I'm in love all over again with the ggi6. I suppose the reasonable thing to do would be to get my ggi5 out and play it on some gigs. It is just as wonderful as the ggi6.

Coincidentally I've also been using my Gould @ all gigs this weekend!! It certainly doesn't hurt that the tone is amazing and it stays in-tune even during these hot Texas days. Mesa D800+ & Bergantino 410 outdoors, the Mesa WD-800/ Genz Focus 410 at church!!!
And that makes three of us, and with Chuck's old GGi5 I bought from him some odd years ago that is still seeing church duty. Any time the set list calls for heavy usage of the B string and lots of sustain this one gets the call up. It has the tightest, most well defined B string of any bass that I own and it sustains for DAYS. I rotate basses frequently because of song requirements or just because I can, but this one never fails to deliver the goods when I need it to.
That is a great ggi5. I love the electronics in that one. The one I have now is a lovely bass as well.
When I first received my GGi5, I was playing at my church the next week. I was a bit nervous about bringing a new bass, so on a whim, I emailed Geoff. What an amazing, thoughtful and talented man. He responded quickly with his pointers/ settings that he uses in his home church. No magic — basically lean on the P-bass pickup a bit). My test run went flawlessly, the instrument is (of course) a masterpiece. But his willingness to deal with my questions/anxiety elevated the whole experience. Still my go-to, #1 after many years.
Had a great time this weekend playing Grateful Dead songs right on Lake Michigan.. Not a clue as to why I looked so angry

Actually, it was someone else who I was replying to!
I just got my hands on a 90s Alvarez Villain guitar with a licensed Modulus neck. @GeoffGould, do you know if these were designed/manufactured by you and or modulus? I’ve heard they were made in house but also that they were purely a work of South Korea and would love some info.
