    China Ampeg???

Yes, that's it! I've just talked to the supplier, and 3 of 10 of their latest delivery of SVT15E has been returned. Probably because of a bad voice coil. I will return mine as well and buy myself an old USA cab, I think. ;)

    China Ampeg???

Thanks, Jerrold! It seems like you are the only one who get my point. Please, read ALL my posts before any more discrediting comments. I don't wanna be classified as a complete idiot just because I blewed a speaker. ;)

    China Ampeg???

Again! I did it myself. I'm aware of that. All I say is that I'm very dissapointed. To you who try to give me a lecture in the subject and telling me what I should do or not should do I'll say that before you speak you should know all the parameters. I think I have the necessary knowledge...

    China Ampeg???

Yes, I blewed the speaker but I expected more from the SVT 15E. I've combined the 410 with other 1x15 speakers without any problems in spite of wattage differences. The GK BLX 115 was really nice, also a 200 W cabinet. Again, I expected much more from the Ampeg 15E for which I payed over $700...

    China Ampeg???

Recently I completed my Ampeg SVT 410HE (USA) with a new SVT 15E (China) cabinet. First, the new cabinet was built in a much thinner plywood, not at all so stable as the old one. Second, the speaker was blown after 10 hours of playing. Where is that Ampeg quality thinking. You don't necessarily...

Acoustic 408 4x15 cab: replacement speakers

Yes, the Eminence Legend CB15 are alright, but not so good as Fane in the 408 cabinet, in my opinion. Of course, this is a matter of taste and the specs are sometimes confusing. For me it's been a matter of trial and error.

Acoustic 408 4x15 cab: replacement speakers

I've tested several different speakers in my Acoustic cabinets. The original Eminence elements are well adapted but a little weak and are easily farting out. Do you want some more bottom end and a more "modern" sound in your 408, I would highly recommend Fane Sovereign series. I use four...

Thanks BassAgent, for your kind words. Yes, it's a real vintage beauty and sounds even better than it looks. I've been searching for this bass for over 30 years. Never give up your dream to get your "perfect" bass. You'll know when you find it.

the official "Show your basses" thread part 13!

Wow, here's so many gorgeous basses and dedicated owners. I'm an old bassplayer and think I've found what I'm looking for - Fender Jazz Bass -64 through a Acoustic 320/408 rig. Here are some pictures of the bass, an original -64, apart from a body refinish.

    Acoustic 370

370 is the best amp ever made! Very LOUD and reliable. Look out for "dead" filters in the graphic EQ. Often it's caused by a broken choke in the preamp EQ-section.

    Ampeg SVT-6 FAN

Yes, of course that's a relative problem but you have to consider this if you want to use the amp in a jazz trio, playing a soft ballad. My point is, why do you put such a cheap component in a first class product? The fan model is a Jamicon, 60x60x25 mm, 24 V which deliver a noise level of...

    Ampeg SVT-6 FAN

First of all, I have to say that the Ampeg SVT-6 Pro is a great amp. It has both muscles, dynamics and a really firm tone. All you need, actually. There is one big problem, though. Why must the fans be so LOUD. There must be a more silent replacement for these noisy ones. The amp sounds like...
