It looks a lot like my Epiphone 5120E and its UniVox/Aria/etc... clones Made in Japan in the early 70's
same bridge, same pickups, probably same shortscale neck, only the shape of those cutouts is slightly different

I don't have a camera (My parents wanted to buy me one, but I told them to put it in the "bass" fund! Dunno where their camera is.), so these are quick cellphone pics.

Fender MIM Deluxe Active Jazz Bass "Black Magic Woman" - My pride and joy! I love it, but sometimes I regret not getting a passive Jazz. And I definitely will sometime in the future.
Yamaha RBX374 "Boston"... I put flats on it, love 'em. So easy on the fingers even when I'm very tired. It was my first bass. Sounds good, definitely a keeper.
And an Epiphone Embassy V... I call it "Meh." It was half-price and it was my Birthday, so I just asked my dad to get it, I wanted to try a 5-er. I like the whole 5 String Idea, but I hate the bass. It's so heavy I can't really play it (after an arm injury I can't really play a super-heavy bass/guitar for long).
Playing them through an EBS Classic Session 60. Goint to replace it with a GK Stack in some time. Not soon.
My 18th birthday is in September - I hope I can get an EBMM Stingray HH with a maple fretboard, but those things are really expensive, so I don't know. If not I'll get a Geddy Lee Jazz, always wanted one.
Currently missing a P-bass, might make that up with a CV 60's or VM Amber.
So much wanted... How can you not love the bass? It's just such an elegant instrument...

Maybe not Impressive, but I love playing them.
Oh yeah, don't worry, I'm not another slap-happy kid. I like to keep it simple, but effective... Love playing along to Foghat or some Rory Gallagher and great musicians/bands like that... Enjoy looking for "New" music...

Wow, here's so many gorgeous basses and dedicated owners.

I'm an old bassplayer and think I've found what I'm looking for - Fender Jazz Bass -64 through a Acoustic 320/408 rig.

(as just posted in the shortscale club thread)

Here's my shortscale bass, just 28 5/8" custom made. With Daddario XL156, 044-056-072-084 strings. The body and neck is Warmoth baryton (the neck is made slightly thinner). The bridge pickup is a Seymour Duncan Hot Rails for guitar and the neck pickup is a Seymour Duncan pickup for Rickenbacker bass.

Hey people! I've just signed up here and this is my first post, still tryna figure things out.

I'm fairly new to playing bass, only played for 2 months, at the moment I'm playing a Squier J Bass with a lil' 15w Fender practice amp.

Also, how can I show more than 2 pics at a time? I've seen some guys post pics that aren't attachments? do you need to upload them to an image hosting website like photobucket first then use the URL link? Any help is appreciated! :)

Yeah....Tis a clone/copy of a 68/69 Yamaha.....Haven't played the Yamaha version yet but I hope to come across one just to compare..

Thanks BassAgent, for your kind words. Yes, it's a real vintage beauty and sounds even better than it looks. I've been searching for this bass for over 30 years. Never give up your dream to get your "perfect" bass. You'll know when you find it.
