Nope, it's a Jazz from January 1966. Original except for 3 screws, the strapbutton at the back of the headstock and the finish. A neck, dots+binding, lollipop tuners and a sound everybody will love I have it for about a year now and I'll never get rid of it.

I actually got kinda lucky with it. It was for sale at a bass store here in Holland (Paul's Bass Matters) and I had played it a few times before. It was expensive (as are all vintage Jazz Basses these days), so I thought: if I can ever afford a bass like this, I want this one.
And then my brother and I were in a tv quiz here. When driving to the studio, we asked each other what we would buy if we'd win (chances were slim, but hey, dreaming isn't forbidden). I said I'll buy a vintage Fender, he said he'd have a new drum kit built. And we actually won So I bought the bass, he had a drum kit built by a builder from Finland.

Heres my two fenders. One is real,... one is a collection of parts off ebay. I much prefer the partsocaster! Theres a '78 t40 and an '85 ish kramer forum 3 under the bed too.

I've been an active, supporting TB member for nearly a full year and I've never posted all my basses (just a few in the G&L Club).

So, here they are:

On the couch, flanked by my kids' Ibanez Mikros: Rick Turner Electroline 535-FL-P fretless, Regenerate Guitar Works/custom prototype fretless 4, G&L L2500 fretless 5.

On the floor: EBMM SR5, G&L L2500 fretted 5, Regenerate Guitar Works prototype VRB 4, Warmoth Jazz.

The SR5 and 2 L2500s get the most live use these days, but the others are great to have around.

Hey all! I'm a long time lurker, but just bought a new Yamaha RBX374 bass this week, and took some pictures of my old bass before packing it away in a case for another decade or three. It's a Squier Katana I bought around 1990...which seems to be pretty oddball/rare. Googling says the Fender version was a lot nicer. Mine was mint when I bought it second hand from a local guitar shop in my home town, but it got some pretty significant finish damage on the back when someone (Mom, psychotic girlfriends, etc) crammed it together with my generic Stratocaster in a case or something. Otherwise, it's still in good shape. In the pics, the strap lugs are missing, because when I bought it I permanently attached the strap with a screw/washer setup...which has been in place since then (like 20+ years). I removed those last night and am replacing them with Schallers this week. Last night I removed the neck, so that it will fit in the $40 hard case I just got for it...since I don't plan on playing it anytime soon.

I think the Katana is a total fail when it comes to practicality...the neck weighs more than the body...and drops to the floor when you let it go. But I'm a total 80's dude, and think it is still a cool looking bass. Through the hard times, I've sold most everything I own except for the Katana. Since I got my new Yamaha, I can't put it down...it's the first time in 20+ years I have a bass (since I sold my P-Bass knockoff) that is comfortable to play.

FYI, I'm not a musician...I just plug in my bass/guitars in the rare times when I'm caught up on work and have a few Bud's or twelve down my pipe...and pretty much just pretend to play along with early Iron Maiden, and Primus when I'm in the mood for that "newfangled" music. I'm out of touch...but banging away on the bass is good stress relief.

Here is a short scale 8 string that I made as a bass/guitar/tapper a few years ago. I play bass and guitar and was interested in both 8 string guitars and basses so I combined the two and came up with this thing.
