Nope, it's a Jazz from January 1966. Original except for 3 screws, the strapbutton at the back of the headstock and the finish. A neck, dots+binding, lollipop tuners and a sound everybody will loveI have it for about a year now and I'll never get rid of it.
I actually got kinda lucky with it. It was for sale at a bass store here in Holland (Paul's Bass Matters) and I had played it a few times before. It was expensive (as are all vintage Jazz Basses these days), so I thought: if I can ever afford a bass like this, I want this one.
And then my brother and I were in a tv quiz here. When driving to the studio, we asked each other what we would buy if we'd win (chances were slim, but hey, dreaming isn't forbidden). I said I'll buy a vintage Fender, he said he'd have a new drum kit built. And we actually wonSo I bought the bass, he had a drum kit built by a builder from Finland.
