Ampeg SVT-6 FAN

First of all, I have to say that the Ampeg SVT-6 Pro is a great amp. It has both muscles, dynamics and a really firm tone. All you need, actually.

There is one big problem, though. Why must the fans be so LOUD. There must be a more silent replacement for these noisy ones. The amp sounds like an old PC!

Is there anyone on TalkBass who have any suggestions?

I recently bought an Ampeg 4BR ( B-stock) anyway, I plugged it in and was impressed as to how quiet it was. Then it cut(to protect itself) and the techs said it shipped in with the fan disconnected. So, now its working fine and still this isn't as loud as my new B2RE . Its better to have the fan making noise than not to work at all. My svt4pro isn't loud at all so what the heck , more loud fan threads....By the way my practice amps are my 1000 watt heads and its no problem at all.....................

....:D

Yes, of course that's a relative problem but you have to consider this if you want to use the amp in a jazz trio, playing a soft ballad. My point is, why do you put such a cheap component in a first class product?

The fan model is a Jamicon, 60x60x25 mm, 24 V which deliver a noise level of 42.5 dB!!! In SVT-6 there are two of them and it makes a total of appr. 45.5 dB. That is very very loud. That's the sound level of normal speech.

My question was if someone have a suggestion for a more silent replacement fan for the SVT-6, specificly.
