i'm not sure it is the easiest instrument, maybe easy to play, but not necessarily easy to play well. it takes practice and determination, as does any instrument. :) and comparing instruments' ease of playing is highly subjective - haha maybe its true and bassists are nerdy :P

in my experience, guitarists can let the fact that they get endless solos and attention persuadethem that they are the centre of the band... also, IMHO the bassist should be in control of the volumes, otherwise the guitarists just compete and turn themselves up too much...anyone else found...

I currently own a 35" 5-string Ibanez. My question is simple, if I were to drop tune this guitar (probably to A standard or drop-A), should I get a different set of strings? Surely, particularly with the B-string, drop-tuning it would cause buzzing and would not sound good, but I can't be sure...

Hi, I'm considering moving to a 5-string bass from a 4-string, but I play many songs in drop-D, and I am not sure how this would work out. Obviously, I could just tune the E down to D as normal, or possible transpose to use the B string. Does anyone have a good method for this? Thanks...
