Stiffness and sustain are logic features, so a carbon fiber bass with neck- through gives a lot of sustain. The cheeks give the possibility to sit or stand playing, but are of secondary importance. Headless design furtermore contributes to a perfect balance and no “neck dive”.

I swear to headless with a 0th fret an plays the Washburn Status SB1000. It has lo-z pickups and active circuit and does not “neck dive”! Would like an original Status, but my income doesn’t justify the price.

There are other fine basses than mentioned! Anybody heard of the British brands Status ? JD ? WAL ? Burns ?

I agree, it is excessive, for about half the price you can get the British Status bass with graphite through neck, and I guess it is the best bass compared to any bass at all. It is unconditonally stable whatsoever and has a loooooooong sustain !

Fot this price I’d prefer the British Status !

If the strings are cut to length before installing them they will start to loosen windings and hence loosing overtones very fast. Install, tune up and cut !

I have the suspicion you cut your strings before mountin bthem in the pegs - - -
