I like both pickups, and I also like to swap them regularly. So I've replaced the original electronics with an Obsidianwire Pre-wired kit, solderless. To swap pickups I only need two screwdrivers.

I have played a lot of 4 and 5 string basses, active, passive... I always returned to the base: The Fender Precision. And yes, I have small hands and the P-neck is a serious piece of wood. I know, it has a lot to do with (lack of) playing technique. So I keep practicing on an original Precision...
