Amplification suggestions. What amp or amp/cab do you play?

I use rack gear at home. I have a nice tidy rack on wheels with drawers for pedals or other stuff like picks and cable storage. There is a large open section where I keep my reference books. My small 10" cab sits on top. Not entirely practical for everyone. Too heavy to steal as well.

Anyone else clicks "add to cart" when they've had a couple of drinks?

I can't look at my phone while in the back seat of a car.

In search of a phaser with less bass throb

Consider a crossover pedal and a means to sum the signal after. With a crossover pedal you can send everything above say 300 Hz to the modulation effect and keep the lows clean. Something with a blend control would work as well.

If you’re not in a band, what is it that keeps you playing?

I play along to songs I like. I also play different instruments. The best part of not being in a band is all the other things I do. Disc golf, biking, hiking and camping replaced a lot of the time I spent in bands. From time to time I have other musicians over to play. The hardest part of not...

    Bag End Club.

You could probably buy a replacement from Bag End. The carpet bothered me more when I purchased my first cabinet, so much so that I spent over month stripping it with a heat gun, sanding down the wood and refinishing it with the correct stain etc. Really glad I did and still enjoy the cabinet...

Who builds a Fender Bassman AB165 preamp??

Listened to the bass channel demo. Yeah it's close enough. The Blackbird SR-71 green channel sounds closer and it appears the channels can be bridged or maybe the "creamy" switch is just for the drive channel. Ive been interested in the Milkman pedals as well but have not heard a bass demo of it.

Who builds a Fender Bassman AB165 preamp??

The magic of the AB165 is bridging the two preamps though. All of the preamps I have seen are only a single channel.

    Alembic Super Filter

I own the FL-105 and the Broughton SVF. The FL-105 has better tone in my opinion. I have been using the Alembic filter for a week and had put the SVF aside until it arrived. I have had some success in using the SVF after the FL-105 and could see using the foot switch on the SVF for certain...

    Why Did You Start Playing?

No never used a girlfriend, always had a job, usually manual labor, took a music class in the 90s but still struggle, I have played loud but it was in unison with the band.

    Why Did You Start Playing?

I lived in Anchorage during a recession in the late 80's. I was desperate to get out so when a friend called and asked if I could play bass I said yes. I had some guitar and drum experience but no training. I moved to Seattle in 1989 to join his band and just did what the guitarist did.

Steep High Pass Filters to Prevent Over-Excursion

The fDeck page: hpftechllc - HPF-Pre, updated April 23, 2023 I think it's a great product warmer than the Broughton filter. Broughton filter are really good too. Grace Design ALIX would be a slick option, maybe.

    GK 800RB...vampire mode

Sorry guys, I had remembered that manual to state that it needed a load. I never ran that amp without a load because of my misinterpretation of the manual, of course the last time I read it was sometime in 95 and back then I would have assumed that no load equaled lower than the rated...

    GK 800RB...vampire mode

The 800RB needs a load, it's in the manual. I would not recommend running it without one. I'm curious what your settings are? maybe turn the volume and bass knob to the left or engage the HP filter at higher volume. The 400RB does not need load.
