Woot! After two months, I *finally* have my Cali Solid Body back from my luthier. (It's a long story, but all's well that ends well.) She dressed the frets, took the action down, cleaned and tightened the pots... a general tune up. What a difference! Playability is much better, string buzz...

Yes, there are shims under the piezo that you can remove to lower the action at the bridge. I have wondered if the metal thumb-screw-looking thingies are adjustable. You know what's weird? On my California solid body, the saddle intonation is *not* compensated, but I see that the saddles...

I wonder if they will start to appear on the solid bodies too? Mine doesn't have one.

Has anyone verified that it actually *is* a truss rod? I have my doubts. The neck is so so short and thick, and the strings have such low-tension that I don't think a truss rod would have much effect. Anyone want to be the guinea pig and try adjusting it? 8^)

I like the white, and would love to see them under black light. Aquila would be smart to offer them in other colours if possible, though. Frank -- not sure what you're hinting at, but my interest is piqued! And nice review, Justin!

For my solid body, I'm using a Levy's kids' guitar strap. It's just the right size for this little guy.

The pickups are in the saddles themselves. I know, 'cause I took mine apart. 8^)

Sure... when I get my bass back from the luthier! I took it in on Friday because the A string was very buzzy compared to the others -- it would buzz a bit on the first five frets no matter how softly I played. Hopefully it just needs a good fret dressing. She is going to lower the nut action...
