SBL Accelerator Program - Worth It?

I have paid for both the Technique Accelerator and the Practice Accelerator. On the technique one, I have to take things with a grain of salt. My learning style is 'slow/deep'. Scott's teaching style is 'blazing'. He assumes some things that are not true for me. On technique accelerator, I kept...

Learning fretboard on 6 string bass

My bass has 6 strings and 24 frets. I try to memorize the position of each note on each string (without the bass). Example C: B String (1, 13) E String( 8,20), A String( 3,15) D String (10,22), G String( 5,17) C String ( 12, 24). I try to do this for each note. ( I didn't double check these...

    Google Sketchup help.

Most things that are not done in native SketchUp are available as a plugin, but I think you can 'Send to LayOut' and then 'Export' to PDF. That way changes made are bidirectional.

Headphones for bass practice, no budget restriction

I use the AKG Q701's tight bass, can wear them all day. Had the Sony's previously. For almost 'perfect' bass sound, I use IEM's from Westone with 3 drivers. I hear 5 drivers are even better, but for now the Westones are my 'reference' headphones.

Six strings basses - are you spaced out?

I built my own, I have 'dainty' hands. 19 was too big, so I went 17mm. I had to have custom pickups made also. It's the one on the far right of my Avatar.

    Scotts bass Lessons

The Danny Mo Motown Masters workshops are awesome for Motown style and practice routines. They are an additional $97 bucks on top of the standard SBL cost, but to me, they are worth it.

Tools for learning songs by ear

I have Audacity, Amazing Slow Downer, (ProTools, Reason, Reaper etc), and Transcribe, and Transcribe is the easiest to use to isolate parts for repetition. I could probably do with Amazing Slow Downer, what I did in Transcribe, but after using ASD for years, Transcribe was so much more easy to...

    First bad experience with Zzounds

When I return something to Sweetwater, they ship me a new one before I even send the old one back. There have been times (I ordered the wrong Gator wireless IEM bag) where they told me 'just keep the other one, in case you find a use for it'. I think they looked at my previous purchase...

    Replacing Vinyl Windows

This won't help the poster that doesn't want DIY, but I'm just now starting the same search. I want to do the windows myself because all contractors are willing to either leave the wood siding and I want to replace all the wood on my house with composites. I also want to make sure they use a...

    Advice Needed, Rhythm Issue

This is a hard one for drummers to get right, (The Mark Ronson version) if played correctly you can play the root on the kick, but some drummers play snare as the hit with 'and' as the kick. I usually focus on the off beats the drummer leaves as my rhythm, because they mostly play the spaces at...
