Bowmore 12 used to be my go-to. My brother in law got a bottle of the 18 for my pops for father's day this year, and we all got to sample a dram. Hell yeah you can! L2000's have some of the best tones available for death metal mixes, the midrange you get out of them in series mode cuts through a dense mix like a knife. I'm honestly surprised you don't see more people using them.

Currently? Colin Marston Go check out his work with Dysrhythmia, Gorguts, and Behold... The Arctopus Dude is on another level, with a very unique playatyle and tone. Other than him, probably Dominic Forrest LaPointe. Check out the latest Augury record, or his band Teramobile.

I'm still a fan of the Ziko strings after more than a year. They sound great on a midrangey Cirrus style bass - gives it a nice round low end with some zingy high-mids for extra oomph amidst all the mids

regular bridge as well, but only if you have a 35" scale bass. The windings are long enough for a 34" bass.

Naww, still not in J territory. You'd have to pull some pretty radical EQ to make a Cirrus as weak and wimpy as a bass with J pickups :P
