Hey guys. I haven't posted in awhile... I'm looking for some Jazz acts to get into. I've been listening to some Miles Davis, Herbie Hancock and John Scofield...and they are all great, but I'm looking for stuff that sounds more like "nu jazz" or "acid jazz". I normally listen to Indie Rock...

well that would make perfect sense...but the problem seems to be, if i straighten the neck, it becomes to straight and buzzes through 5th. Too much relief, and the action will be too low and it will buzz 12th and up. It's just a little finicky to find that happy median. I think I've solved...

1/8" at the 7th fret on E?!!! That's insane!!! I'll stop complaining now....

My Jazz screams bloody murder when played with a pick...and what i mean is I get nasty little fret noise, and my action is quite high by standard. I don't normally play with a pick anyway, but just curious if anyone else has this problem. Could this be why more pick players play a Precision?

I play a Fender MIM Jazz, and I'm possibly looking to pickup my first active bass....Ibanez. I've been looking at the SR, GSR, SRX. But here's a couple of questions.... -What opinions do you have on said models? -Why are they so inexpensive? (namely the SR300DX) Whats the catch?

That actually sounds exactly like my problem. 5-7 and 12-19 are my trouble spots....

Yes... Ok..."hypothetically" speaking, lets say you have an MIM Jazz, and you can not get rid of the BAD fret buzz 12th-19th fret no matter how high your action is. You take it to the shop, and the guy says "It's setup pretty well now. Your neck has some TONGUE though..." What is he...

What is "Tongue"? Why does "Tongue" happen? How do I get rid of "Tongue"??
