    Double Bass Does anyone have a reccomendation for a good starter upright?

    Funny you guys are recommending this Luthier. I’m in Western Maine and he does have the nicest basses in New England. Very informative guy!

    Tiny size but BIG SOUND bass amp?

    I use an Ampeg PF500 and a Rev Sound 2x12 cab that I can carry in in one trip, less the bass. It's got to be plenty of power as I'm always being told to back it down just a twinge But I think that's because it's hitting people in the chest more then anything!!

    Waste of time things your band should avoid

    A musician that takes 45 minutes to plug their instrument in. And then has the same technical problems with their equipment as the previous 30 years. I gotta get this on video

    Biker night gig in Texas last night

    One of the best gigs in the State is a very active motorcycle hangout in Arundel me. Bentlys has at least 6 bands playing there every week. Bikers love to party and Bentlys bar is our employer. They come from many states away and there's 100 in and out do there daily in the summer.

    Learning a song by ear??

    I use my cheap plastic piano to find the root notes of a song first and then the rest of the major and minor cords. I have a tin ear and can't decifer worth a beans. I use the piano's drum machine and metranome too. You don't need to know how to play the piano very much to find the right...
