    Best Cab for the Buck?

Thanks for all the help - I went with the Genz Benz 410T-XB. It straight kicks ass - plenty of low end and a horn control knob to adjust the highs. It blew all of the other options out of the water in all aspects. Lucked out big time on the price at $350 too. HIGHLY RECOMMEND THE GB...

    Best Cab for the Buck?

Funny about the eminence 3015 - is this what you are referring to? This ad came up on Craigslist today: Used Ampeg 2x15 cabinet w/ two brand new Eminence speakers. This cabinet has been toured with so it has some exterior ware, but has never sounded better. Please email for more info! Must...

    Best Cab for the Buck?

Alright so I am trying to get some feedback on the best bang for my buck on a cab setup. I have a 70's model Ampeg V4B tube head and play mostly rock/blues. We play in small/medium size venues, up to 500 people and I am looking for the best tone that will keep up with the band. I have been...

    Ampeg V4-B Cab Setup?

Alright so I have an Ampeg V4-B Head Unit and need to get a good cab setup for under $350. I was using an ampeg svt 410 and 115 cab, but I just blew the 115 speaker and sold the 410 for some quick cash. We usually play in small/medium size clubs and bars, and I just want to hear some...

    Ampeg V4-B Question

I just got a V4B and it sounds great at the low end. KILLER amp. If you use the ultra low switch you will need at least 15 to get the full range of tone out of it. I ran it though my 4X10 to start and it was great for mids but not really strong on the lows. (not the amp's fault though) I use...

Ampeg SVT vs Vintage Ampeg V4B

Looks like the V4B is the obvious winner. I picked it up last night and am a HUGE fan. It cranks out huge tone and is super silky, even at the bottom end. It has enough juice to shake down a house and could probably handle larger gigs when needed. BIG fan so far.

    OHMS Questions

So if am I better off to buy a 4x10 cab with 8 ohms, a 1x15 cab with 8 ohms and with the 147 watt tube amp head?

    OHMS Questions

Can someone please explain to me the OHMS equation? I am looking at this combination but need to make sure it will work. I am looking at buying this setup used, from 3 different people so I can't test it out: Cab - AMPEG CLASSIC SERIES SVT- 1x15 - 8 OHMS Cab - AMPEG BSE 4x10H - 4 Ohms...

Using a Combo Amp with an Extension Cab

There is a 3 pronged 'Line Out' jack on the amp, which I had planned on using to run to the extension cab. Is that not possible?

Using a Combo Amp with an Extension Cab

I have an Ampeg BA 115 Combo amp and need to get louder for our next venue. I believe it is 100 watts with 1 15 inch speaker. I am looking at adding a Peavy Extension Cab with 2 10's (model Peavy 210TX) to get more sound. I am wondering if the 100 watt Ampeg combo amp will be enough to push...
