What, my friends, is nice big amp for a Hofner Violin bass?

Actually, the Icon, I've heard, sounds more like the iconic Beatles Paul McCartney sound. If you're going for an old school, Beatles style bass, without breaking the bank, I'd go Icon. Jay Turser is a little more modern sound. This is a topic near and dear to me. Hope i could help. Jeremy...

Thanks everybody, I think i will skip all the hassle, and get around 400 bucks for an icon. If anyone knows where to get one for cheaper, i'd gladly like to hear about it.

Greetings, I have a question, for you gentlemen. can a jay Turser or brand or Epiphone violin bass be modded to resemble a Hofner? they are quite a bit less expensive than even the Icon. I have heard they sound similar, with good strings, but i like the McCartney look far better. any...

The same instrument? Thank you, i think not, an epiphone cant match what a Hofners got. I'll check, as you say, the world of ebay, and hope i may find a match, someday.
