i definitely feel the difference between 16 17 18 and 19mm. I prefer between 17 and 18. When I play a bass that's 19mm spacing, there's a slight adjustment I have to make to reach that other string when playing faster lines. It's also a bit of a struggle at first, but hands adjust.
