Pet Peeve - loading in/loading out

So a 3X10 cab would be what 12 ohms ? Assuming you originally had 4 8 ohm drivers in series parallel? SMH

Pet Peeve - loading in/loading out

Venues that insist you use their crappy back line including some underpowered transistor-y type bass amp that clips the minute you drop your low B

the TRACE ELLIOT thread: Part II

You can easily do a revalve yourself but 12ax7/ec83 tubes generally last years unless they have become microphonic or have been used in hi gain stages in guitar amps. Bass amps generally speaking are not hi gain preamp stages although some grit is nice when desired. That amp is not a high gain...

Let's see those Work Horse Basses!

Warwick Streamer 1982 German the Trace Elliot GP12SMX is for gigging the Fender Super Bassman 300 stays home for rehearsals and recording. The 4x12 Trace cabs also stay home I use a Epifani 1x15 and an SWR Big Ben 18” Bag End for gigs much easier than tearing down the whole rig

the TRACE ELLIOT thread: Part II

That’s a nice head I have the same one but if it has the BiPolar Bear output stage make sure the grounding wire has a star washer. If not, file the chassis for a good connection and add one. If there is no great ground connection they will blow the output stage and take out any connected cab>...

Who uses a "large" rig and recently went to a class D ultra light replacement, any regrets?

Having recently saved up for a Fender Super Bassman, cant say that I'm any hurry to but some more gear. I have 2 rigs I run the Fender (80 lbs?) through 2 Brit Made Trace Elliott 4X10Hs (4 Celestions with a bullet tweeter) 75 lbs EACH) but all the cabs are on wheels and I have a wheeled road...

Warwick Streamer Standard 5'er pickup swap

The MEC pickup got bjorked in this battleaxe so threw this basslines NYC in there. Originally the volume was a push pull pot to do series or parallel between the 2 coils but I'm waiting on a Switch so I can select south pole/series/parallel.

The Fender Super Bassman 300 thread

Oh BTW, I have been running this with the following settings... Everything on 6. Hot channel blend on 2. Front end volumes as high as I can get depending on bass to match levels. Master as needed. I run passive basses in input1 with the bright/deep engaged and active basses in input 2 with the...

    Heartfield/Fender Bass Club

You will have to pry this bass out of my cold dead arthritic hands, awesome action, sounds great, and plays like butter. I am the original owner. At this momement I have a 1973 Les Paul vintage bass, a "made to ordre" ESP 4 stringer bass from when they were a fledgling shop in NYC in the 80's...

    (Older) Trace Elliot tuning ports?

PS as a preventative measure, I did mount a 4.5 inch 120v cooling fan (yes, from radio shack) in the road case directly behind the heat sink of the amp.
