Let's see those Work Horse Basses!

Sadowsky metro RV5, modified by mo (deeper neck pocket, USA tuners, new style string retainers). Kills every single gig.

CR, NS2B, NS2A, Euro NS 4XL, Legend, Ibanez RG5 Fretless, and more...).

Warwick Streamer 1982 German the Trace Elliot GP12SMX is for gigging the Fender Super Bassman 300 stays home for rehearsals and recording. The 4x12 Trace cabs also stay home I use a Epifani 1x15 and an SWR Big Ben 18” Bag End for gigs much easier than tearing down the whole rig

This Tune bass has been coming out a lot lately. I’ve been fiddling with the neck to get it dialed in where I like it. The PUs and pre in these are very good and powerful. It is actually a beater too, had way big holes drilled for 2 thumbrests an inch above the PUs, wth? Since it was relatively cheap and I hated the strap mounts, I moved them both. The ergonomics are better now for me.
I believe I make more than sufficient security deposits in area below the seventh fret most nights to make a few withdrawals above the twelfth. Possibly searching for the 25th fret in vain here on jam nite.

This is the second bass I built from scratch back in the early 2000’s. RAD Guitars (my initials) was born out of necessity and not wanting to spend a lot of money so I decided to build one. I needed a 5 string bass and wanted something unique, versatile, and based on Leo Fender designs. The jazz bass pups (early Sadowsky) and musicman pup (Seymour Duncan) all go to a 6 pos. rotary switch (1st control knob) then to a 2 band musicman preamp I built from Unclefluffy who was selling the printed boards back in the day. I can get jazz and musicman tones and combinations of both which is pretty cool. I also machined the bridge, which is a custom design and the pick guard is custom as well. The headstock design is an “R” shape for RAD Guitars and is my signature headstock for all the instruments I build. The body (alder) has a tongue oil finish and danish oil on the neck. It sounds and plays fantastic and has been my workhorse for some 14 years.
