Let's see those Work Horse Basses!

Bought used, Guild's D'Armond Pilot import from "Center" for $179. When I realized the factory pickups were single coils designed for 4 strings (which explained why the "B" string was so weak), the body was gonna get routed... and the mods began.

Seymour big-pole alnico's with coil taps, Aguilar 3-band pre, and a Leon Quan "Bad-Ass" to anchor-down the butt. Yeah, I know, more than double the initial investment. But we can hear the "B" string now!

While I have a US StingRay 5 and a Zon Classic 5 in the corral, this is my fun-time/play anything grab-n-go bass.
