Yes, that's not normal, but if I wire the negative through the switch I'll get a loud noise when disconnected. I think the fender preamp is still getting the negative from battery somehow through the circuit ground.

I have one KZ5 amber also. If you want to save some money (at least for now) don't swap everything. In my case I've only installed a Bart HR5.3 electronics and kept the stock pickups and she plays wonderfull, IMO.

Great! I made only the upgrade for electronics, but i'm still thinking about replacing the pups. Just one question...can you mount again the covers with those pickups or is not possible anymore? JM
