I don't know if it's just the angle of the picture, but it looks like the pole pieces don't align properly with the strings. Is this a problem for you?

I've been wanting to add a P bass pup to my stingray for a while now, but with no p bass to measure pup placement i cant tell if i will have to put the pup closer to the neck or not. All i really want to know is if the bottom half of the p will collide with the top coil or not.

with so many people throwing it out there, having it tuned EADGC sounds like it could be pretty fun, and that way i could throw a hipshot D tuner on the E string and have it be much more accessible. But finding a set of strings that are low gauge, but will still fit in the nut would be pretty hard.

i would tune it dadgc, but what im really looking for is not to get rid of the b because i dont use it, but to always have a d along with standard tuning just to make it that much easier.

yes, but if kept like that, the uneven tension will screw your neck up. Also you could break your string.
