Official Eventide Stompbox (H9/Factor Series) Club!!!

Nice! I'm not hearing anyone say the compressors are mediocre or inadequate so far. TBH, I have never owned a compressor of any kind, for bass or otherwise. I know what they do, but never felt the need. So how do these H9 compressors compare with good (not boutique) dedicated pedals for bass?

Anyone using their H9 as a compressor? I know its has bass compressor settings. TBH, I've played bass for over a dozen years at my church, and only recently the new worship director suggested I get a compressor. I'm working at smooth out my dynamics manually for now, but might start bringing...

    Bass amp vs PA System

I just bought a modest used bass combo amp for practice (Fender Bassman 150) and then played my synth through it. Awesome! So I'm googling around now any other validation of the idea of using a bass amp as a PA. (the reverse of that is almost always the consideration you find on the internet).

    Fender Bassman 150

Ping.... I just brought a used one home from GC for $160. Any other thoughts about using this are appreciated. Thanks, - Joe

Does a 4-string bass become obsolete after picking up a 5-string?

Had both. Currently using a 4 string, mostly because my right hand got tendon problems. The smaller neck on the 4 is better for me. Doing just fine with 4 strings again.

Loving it so far! Spent about 20 minutes with it. Recognizing this will deliver big sounds because of the multiple voices with different pitches and good fuzz. Check out BIG BASS SYNTH. Monstrous big sound. And there a LOTS of presets with this one, folks. Kudos Eventide. Didn't mind the...

    Is this considered over-playing?

Hey, Google says too many folks have tried to access the file, so I can't get to it. Any other way you can post it?

    Victor Wooten's Pedal Board

So here's a photo from my son. I spy two H9s, a POG, a Radial-something. Dunno about the rest. I could have sworn I was also hearing a EHX B9 to get a Hammond organ sound, that I'd assume came after an H9 Pitchfactor setting. Thx

    Victor Wooten's Pedal Board

My son and I saw Wooten's trio last night. I'll see if he's got a photo of the pedal board. I know I saw two Eventide H9s, and certainly heard some tastey pitch-shifting and Space effects.

Better off forgetting electric guitar for awhile?

One other thing.... about 8 months ago I really got into Kenny Werner's, "Effortless Mastery." That's why I focus on going slow, and doing best to do well at each little chunk. About a year ago, I asked a long-time friend and guitar instructor to check out my playing. His feedback was lukewarm...

Better off forgetting electric guitar for awhile?

Appreciate the feedback, folks. What happens with me and electric guitar is I greatly enjoy it, and get some kudos from some other folks. Had a few months playing at church, with wildly mixed results. The most discouraging feedback came from a couple of guitarists. So I switched to bass, which...
