Official Eventide Stompbox (H9/Factor Series) Club!!!

How did you set it? It seems pretty uncontrollable for me (threshold must be set very low to have any effect ... the transition between compressed and non-compressed signal is very harsh ...)?

It’s a long time since I’ve used this, but here’s a version of a setting i had for it. I believe threshold is key to play around with, and to bring down the release to around 2-300ms

Hey all,

I bought a used H9 upgraded to Max last year...just getting around to making it useful for bass and found this old article that offers H9 bass presets...but the preset link doesn't work it just refers to the control app.

Hit the Low End - H9 as a Bass Pedal

Any direction on the getting the bass presets?
Don’t forget to set bass as your instrument in the settings.
Many algos have bass in the title. I use all of the effects with my bass, but some effects profit from high frequency content. They rather sound dull with flatwounds and a treble cut.

It's set to bass. The video implies a a specific list of presets for bass, it's from 2016 or 2017 though.

Is there an H90 club or they just tag in here? I finally started using my H90 this week.
It really helped to go through that long compilation by Jon K. www.youtube.com/watch?v=RgzbxV_1Xlg

Then got Nate Navarro's H90 presets playlist (only 15 though), but looks like there is a hidden playlist of curated bass presets already available through the H90 control
And I am already setup snapshots by yesterday
Getting expression pedals setup today and find out how I can incorporate this with my Source Audio Soleman setup - that could take awhile.

Even with the ability to use 2, another h90 would be not be bad :D

Anyone using their H9 as a compressor? I know its has bass compressor settings. TBH, I've played bass for over a dozen years at my church, and only recently the new worship director suggested I get a compressor.

I'm working at smooth out my dynamics manually for now, but might start bringing the H9 if the compressor is adequate.

Not sure if this in the H9 but Nate Navarro's Clean patch uses the compressor and it is not bad.

EQ-Compressor Algorithm:

Both manuals say the same thing and it's a one knob. You may prefer a dedicated one instead for more control. Like the Source Adui Atlas and then use the H9 to setup the SA via MIDI

H9:

The amount of compression applied to the signal. The values to the left half of the knob will affect the Pre-EQ compression, increasing the amount of compression as you move it counter clockwise. The values to the right half of the knob will affect the Post-EQ compression, increasing the amount of compression as you move it clockwise. The compressor is specially designed to vary the numerous parameters of a typical compressor such as the ratio, attack, release and the makeup gain to keep the overall loudness consistent.

Nice!

I'm not hearing anyone say the compressors are mediocre or inadequate so far. TBH, I have never owned a compressor of any kind, for bass or otherwise. I know what they do, but never felt the need.

So how do these H9 compressors compare with good (not boutique) dedicated pedals for bass?
