Has anyone successfully reordered a list in the as-yet-undocumented H90 Control? I can't figure out how to do that. When I drag and drop a program, it overwrites the program that I drag it onto, rather than inserting or switching.

The good news is my nearly-10-years-of-custom H9 presets are now in my H90, arranged in programs for two bands. It wasn't as simple as advertised, as many settings got changed on the import, and there is a weird decision that the default for hot knobs is 100% instead of 0%, and spillover has to be re-enabled. But that was a one-time bit of work.

And it works with the drive pedals I like. I am still figuring some things out but it's very promising. First practice with the new, much smaller board, is tonight.

I see you cross post a lot on the eventide forums as well - which is great but if you find your solutions there please be sure to post here as well since not all of us are on both forums and it might help someone else out on either forum…

I'm traveling now so can't give my impressions on what does and doesn't work. I figured posting on their forum gets a knowledgable reply in less than 24 hours, which is better than writing tech support. There's a lot of grousing over there. My view is like every other company, they've released an incomplete product: H90 control is pretty bare bones and will be getting updates and a manual at some point; there are a couple things on the pedal that players want that they haven't thought through and will implement. We are basically paying the early adopter penalty that comes with anything that has software.

OTOH, it is clearly so much more than two H9s, and a lot of the improvements--like defining foot switches per preset, and a better screen--are fantastically useful. And I'm digging the new pitch algorithms. So if it never improved, I'd still use it happily.

In any event, I'll keep everyone posted here.

Speaking of which: I had my first practice with it last night. Compared with my H9 presets, some level settings had to be tweaked and I haven't internalized all the front panel commands yet for editing. I felt like the pedal had a lot more headroom, and one of my drive pedals especially somehow sounded better to me. Could be new gear bias. But it definitely doesn't sound worse. I also like that it is replacing 2 H9s, an EHX Micro POG and a RJM PBC 6x. My pedalboard is now half the size.

I have also been messing with the drives a bit more. I'm trying to get Weed Whacker or Crush Station to mimic my Xotic BB Bass Pre but haven't quite been able to dial it in.

I'm glad you're digging right in. I have spent some time with mine replicating and improving my old h9 presets but haven't had time to really get to its deeper capabilities (particularly routing) so anything you do find is helpful…

As far as the manual goes though - what are you looking for? I have a manual for the h90 that I downloaded from eventide no problem…

I am still waiting to see what the folks at barn come up with as far as switching goes. I am on an email list for any new developments from them.

I upgraded my board to integrate my H90 and my ML10X at roughly the same time. I have it set up so the ML10X can put anything into the H90 loop (I run the H90 mono on 1 with one loop on 3). It does seem I get more popping than I used to when I turn one of my analog drives on and off while in the loop. Has anyone experienced anything like this?

I've been going down a research rabbit hole and considering adding an H9 Max to my board. The tough part is that I'm the kind of person who likes to "make the right purchase once" so when I see people recommend buying two I start thinking about that budget, then I start thinking "well should I just add a few hundred dollars and buy the H90?"

Brains, man. They work too much sometimes...

If you have any thought of buying two H9s I would absolute get the H90

Good to know... at that price level 15% off is a nice chunk. It's on backorder with Musician's Friend so I'm going to sit on the idea for awhile and not make any rushed decisions - I'm thinking about picking up a used H9 Max just to see how I like it, how much I'd actually end up using it, and would then flip + upgrade to the H90 if I think I could justify the price. I don't want to flip anything that's currently on my board before trying the H9, in case I end up not liking it, but having an H9 or H90 would make a number of pedals redundant so I could factor in the amount I'd get selling those pedals into my math that justifies spending more on one pedal than any current bass I own cost lol

Just got my H90 today, after a few months on backorder! Spent some time playing between work and the Carolina Hurricanes playoff game starting (which is about to go overtime as I type this), and I'm loving it so far.

I had a modfactor back in the day that I mostly used for guitar, so I'm looking forward to not only usingit on my bass board primarily, but also for messing around into my Helix for guitar, and with my Sequential Pro 3 synth (using an eventide blackhole with that already).

One sound I really need to dial in is something to replace setting #4 on the digitech bass synth wah that this is replacing (along with my chorus and bass wah, waiting on an expression pedal that'll go on the bottom left).

Anyways, as far as settings help, does anyone have tips on how to dial in a monophonic synth sound with a downward closing envelope? I couldn't find how to change the direction of envelopes in H90 control, most seemed to go up.

What algos are you trying to use? I'm pretty sure the Q-Wah can go up and down.

I tried the factory presets and didn't hear anything close, a few from the preset sharing site, and then messed with creating my own, admittedly in the least efficient way possible... I put a synth algo on A and then clicked down the list for pitch + mod + verb and didn't find anything that hit right to add on B.

Thanks for the tip, next time I sit down to give it another pass, I'll check the Q-wah out!

I'd really like to set the sweep on an expression pedal (once the Dunlop dvp4 gets here) vs triggered, so I can have my heel down with the closed part of the sweep and toe down to open it.

Had my first gig with the H90 this week and it went very well. My pedalboard is now half the size.

But, I have a question about setting levels. On the H9, it's simply a matter of wet/dry per preset, plus overall output. If I have the same settings on a preset on the H90 as the H9, the wet is relatively quieter on the H90. Is that because of some setting I need to change in the Program as well?

I think every preset/program has in and out gain levels that can be adjusted. I have noticed a little wonkery with levels.

Got the synth sweep effect I was looking for above working nicely!

Does anyone have any bread and butter bass settings they haven't shared on the patch sharing site that they wouldn't mind posting there? Seems like most of it is for guitar.

I've been having decision paralysis with so many options, so looking to see what others have used for basic sounds that fit well in a band mix + even some doom and atmospheric type sounds.
