Official Eventide Stompbox (H9/Factor Series) Club!!!

Hey guys just pulled the trigger on a h90. A few years back I sold all my pedals from a big midi pedalboard with a H9 as the Centre, which i loved greatly, for a helix. The h9 was the pedal i was the most hesitant to sell but eventually did. But after 2 years and purchasing a big tube amp again I want to make a small board with a few dirts and fun stuff for the tube amp...

Don't get me wrong I love the helix rack and the way I have it working with my pedals/preamps but I am excited to be able to make another rig that is more live focused with the H90. For at home fun can always chuck the h90 in a loop of helix aswell.

I am thinking:

In order:
Cali compact bass/MDB2/DG Omicron/H90 mini Dunlop exp. Will have to research best way to hook it all up but I think it will work. I know that it is more than a standard multieffects and know the h9 well but I also know that it can do the simple stuff really well with some tweaking as well. Hoping to be able to sneak it all on my small pedaltrain metro 16...If not i will get/build another small board to fit it all for a super powerful compact rig.

As much fun as big boards are I know my time with them is over.

Very excited! Pics and results to follow when it gets here.

Board Complete. So happy, H90 is incredible and way beyond what I expected it to be. Still have to finalise the routing but I think I have it figured. I am going to run it in insert mode so that I can have pitch before dirt.

Plan is:

Lehle 1st, Cali 2nd, H90, Dirt in insert (Rat, mdb2, AO) to amp. Cali always on mdb2 always on unless rat is. Thinking of squeezing a Darkglass element on the board and then it could be its very own rig which could be cool.

Haha oh I have bigger boats... I have a temple trio 28 that is ginormous! The problem with them is that I will go mad filling the bloody things. I have done it before and I don't have the self control not to go silly.

I dont care how dense the board is I am going to stick to this board. After a bit more playing today inserts and how they are routed is so awesome (especially parallel mid). I have decided that the final spot (and insert) on the board will be going to my Alexander F13 Flanger.

I love playing tool songs and a few need a pitch, flange and delay at same time. The H90 can do two perfect but not 3 so makes sense and F13 is a cool pedal as well.

For anyone interested the Polyphony Algo in the h90 is definitely a big level up in tracking and quality. Having owned a whammy, h9 and Helix the h90 has so much less artifacts and greater response. With how it can be routed there is also so many more options to explore. I know the whammy has its own thing as an effect but I personally love the feel of the new algo.

I finally got to try out the H90 with my instrumental band last night after various people including me being away most of the summer. It works great and is indeed better than my previous 2-H9s setup. I did forget to activate inserts on a couple programs I made (that's where my dirt pedals live) but that was an easy fix at practice.

But! I can't seem to get the pitch flex algorithm working. It works fine on my H9, I literally changed nothing and set it up on my H90 and the expression pedal does nothing, and neither does the hot knob. Otherwise, expression pedal and hot knob work as anticipated on all other algorithms.

Would someone mind checking pitch flex on theirs and reporting back? Maybe I'm missing a setting that has to be changed? I messaged Eventide support as well.

Okay, update from support.

"It appears that you need to map the expression pedal to the manual flex parameter. This was not in the previous version of the manual, but has now been added. See the below link:

update: it worked but the parameter to be mapped to the expression pedal is called "manual shift."

Hi Everyone. First time Eventide pilot here. Just grabbed the H90 and I'm slowly working my way through it. This thing is pretty incredible. The algorithms are a lot of fun, but I'm trying to figure out what will work live (I'm sure many do, including the "standard" effects like flanger and dirt). What are some of your favorite patches to use live?

I don't use any of the factory patches. I recommend starting with basic stuff. I like:

a basic phaser, with a small volume bump to make up for the comb filtering (same deal with flanger)
for delay, a digital delay with a high pass on the echoes will be more audible in a mix
for reverb, try a hall with the lows high passed/turned down.
drones and feedback swells are fun at the end of songs or parts, and into transitions. For this, Black Hole or the modulated delay are super fun.
pitch shifting is also a good basic effect. Try a single one octave down or octave up to start. For leads, you can do harmonies in key but it can get a little wonky with accidentals.
it does a decent bass wah, and the filter is also quite reliable.
don't overlook the fuzzes and distortions, though you'll have to try them out in your band to get the EQ right.

I've been similarly struggling to put patches that are useful in a band context and not just noodling, aside from a chorus, swell, synth filter, and a pitched delay.

There aren't too many bass focused ones on the patch sharing site, maybe a hero amongst us would be so kind as to upload a few or their most used list? Nate Navarro's were nice, but not really what I was looking for out of the H90

Anybody has any experience with the Omnipressor compressor that is hidden inside the Dynaverb algo? Somehow I have to Set its threshold very low o
when using it with my passive basses so that it does anything (around -48db). What are your opinions or settings with the Omnipressor?
