I've been struggling with the Octaver Algorithm. Would you share your settings? It always feels a little warbly and lacks the punch of the sub octave on the Crushtation (which is inherently dirty and always blended) or the clarity of the Harmodulator (which is also warbly and lacking punch). I'm kind of resigned to buying an analog octave pedal but it seems like the H9 should be able to do what I want. I like demos I've heard of the EBS Octabass as well as the OC-2 with -1 soloed.
The only two digital octavers taht sound like analogue (OC-2) Octavers are the Boss OC-5 and the Source Audio C4 / Spectrum. All the others have a certain sound that you either liek or don't. Digital octavers tend to sound very smooth when blended 50/50, but sound rubbish 100% wet. Other examples of digital octavers are the Helix, EHX Hog 2 and Pog.
Eventide aren’t really in the “modeller” market. They specialise in lush sounding delay based rack mount units. Their pitch shifting algorithms are mathematically based and are some of the most versatile and comprehensive available. They just aren’t interested in modelling a specific analogue unit from 30 years ago, it’s just not what interest them as an organisation.
EHX, strymon, Eventide and Source Audio all have their niche and specific directions. Just don’t confuse them with like likes of Line 6 (who are moddeler based).
A few pages back there was chat about secondhand prices of H9… just picked up a H9max for £200 ish - which is quite good bang for buck
I spent last night playing through most the patches… they went from “wow” of reverb and delay stuff right through to “er ok” of the modulation and then ended with the h9 bank of algorithms which seemed very guitar focused and put me in a grumpy mood (it was late at night)
I need to work out what to use when to fit it into what I want to do. Very different in sound to the C4 synth

IMO the H9 bank has some really good algorithms. I love the Ultratap delay and TriceraChorus. Resonator is a truly original effect, but not very easy to program. I use Crush Station, but only the mellow presets like Black Cassette. Some of the other algos I could do without, like Hot Saws.
One bank to explore is Pitchfactor. MicroPitch especially.
Zachary Rizer has done some interesting videos on H9 for bass.
Graveyard post... Anyone come up with some cool patches on their H90 that they'd want to share or talk about?
There aren't many bass focused patches on patchstorage, which is a bummer, since there's so many things you can do with this pedal that it'd be cool to see what others are doing for unexpected inspiration

Another graveyard post… any good flanger settings? It just seems to suck the bottom out a bit.
