As another alternative, the Bartlett Audio Bass Mic (~ $200) sounds good and can be mounted easily in either F hole, or outside in a number of places. Wonderful for low volume gigs! Great to blend with a pickup also.

I used the Platinum Stage with a Realist Life Line for many years into a GK combo amp and FOH. I was always pleased with it. Never have used the Pro EQ Preamp. My favorite now is the Red Eye preamp..

Pretty much what Jmilitsc said. For the best sounding recording, you do not want the bass to face a corner as it will sound boomy. Instead you want to experiment with mic placement within say a mic 5-8 inches straight out from the bridge as well as further out say up to 1-3 feet from the bridge...
