    Cirrus stopped working....any ideas??

Batteries checked out and supply is ok Rick. Thanks for the suggestions JTE, no joy with those unfortunately, and I got the bass second hand with no known warranty. Thanks for that address dog1, I'll e-mail him now - I'd love to know what is the point of Peavey customer service if they ignore...

    Cirrus stopped working....any ideas??

Thanks everyone. Unfortunately I'm no further forward..having e-mailed Peavey customer service TWICE and receiving no reply whatsoever, I'll have to get external help. VERY DISAPPOINTED WITH PEAVEY.............

    Cirrus stopped working....any ideas??

Thanks logic, I also feared that this may be the case, I don't know how I would identify it being the preamp though - any way to use a meter on it? I recently fitted a Nordy preamp to my main bass and looked at the price of the Peavey unit because it is great. I was amazed to find how much...

    Cirrus stopped working....any ideas??

Cheers Bongo, I went straight into the dressing room to check inside the panel and it is a rat's nest in there! But I will check the battery wires soldering, I did not think to check them....

    Cirrus stopped working....any ideas??

Anyone out there got any idea why my Peavey Cirrus BXP recently died on me? Although the timing was perfect as it gave up right at the end of our first set :), with a fizzy disintegration of sound which suggested my batteries had simply given up :rollno: However, after replacing them...

    Nordstrand preamp and Wizard pups......

It's a Westone Superheadless, cheesy to some, but as I sing and play at the same time, and I've had it 24 years ,it sits just right and plays itself :D I can't part with it but wanted to upgrade it. Very glad I did.;)

    Nordstrand preamp and Wizard pups......

In a word - smooth. All three tones are very nicely chosen, but a word of caution - I already mentioned this on another thread - you must stipulate the two mid frequencies you want to use with the pull pot, you have a choice between about 200hz and 1k. You do not get a sweepable mid on this...

    Nordstrand preamp and Wizard pups......

Just completed my refit on my 24 year old bass :D Married two custom built soapbar humbuckers with different windings for neck and bridge with a Nordy 3 band vol, pan, treb, push pull mid (400hz/1kz) and bass. :smug: I had read about Andy Blake of Wizard Pickups in Wales on another forum site...

How to clean up sticker glu?

...petrol.:eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek: Never fails ;). Small drop on a cloth, off in seconds ;). Don't smoke while you're doing it though.:rollno::rollno::D:D:D:D;)

    Pickup foam?

I use self adhesive foam stickers designedfor putting on the feet of furniture to stop them marking the floor - they cost me £1 at my DIY store. They are perfect IMO, and as well as coming in precut shapes they also have a sheet which can be cut to size. Density is perfect too, don't have much...

    In-ears

IEM's have been a revelation for me personally. Our band use them and I now DI my bass straight into our Yamaha O1V desk out to our JBL VRX rig. I use a small Line 6 cube for backline but really it makes no difference to onstage sound, but no more humping a big rig around for me.. I wear one in...

Stock pickups in 81 ibanez blazer bass

My fretless that I made from a Cimar Gibson Grabber copy neck - defretted and filled it myself 26 years ago - has the body from my original Ibanez Blazer. Megga brass bridge and great pup too :D. Got to be careful how high you set both the pup and the actual pole pieces as you can get a pop if...
