I mean it totally could be. Does that sound like the diagnosis?? I was just thinking unless they were shaken up or bumped around (which is possible as I just did a tour), that preamp tubes last a very very long time and I've only had the amp for a couple years.

I asked for help in another thread but no response (it was a bit off topic). Hoping for some kind of feedback or suggestions here. My Ampeg SVT-4 Pro started making an obnoxious hum - almost to the affect of a noisy guitar amp - a few weeks ago on the road. It's only when the input is plugged...

I'm the biggest Cliff fan ever but you're nuts, dude. AJFA... was an amazing album. I never even gave St. Anger a chance. I watched that "Some Kind of Monster" DVD and I seriously wanted to cry/shoot myself/shoot Lars/stab Bob Rock/slap Dave Mustaine(:crying:). Ugh.

Talking about recording...check out the drum sounds on 36 Crazyfists' "A Snow Capped Romance." It's fantastic.

Okay you've obviously been beat up enough after 10 pages, but yeah...you're nuts. Sgt Pepper was sooooooo ahead of its time. This entire pop/indie sound that is huge right now is ALL ripping off that album.

Definitely BTBAM. Check out The Hope Conspiracy's newest album. Simple, locked-in bass lines but I reeeally like the recording and tone of the bass. Hopesfall's new album, although not as heavy as some bands mentioned here, has some very very good, groovy lines.

Started on bass and never bothered to learn guitar. I plan on eventually getting around to sitting down once in awhile to learn the basics, though. There's several other instruments I'd like to pick up as well ie. cello, piano.

Intonation is a pet peeve. And I've definitely been "that guy" at shows by having had a little more to drink than I realized. Oops!

I've been playing a 4 Pro for a couple years now w/an RBI Sansamp out of an Ampeg 8x10 and I always get compliments from sound guys and other musicians. I agree w/the statement on it's overrated power, though. I play in a really loud and heavy band so I'm thinkin about trying the Mesa 400+ as...

Surprised no one's said it yet but...if it's too loud, you're too old! ;) I try to wear ear plugs when we're just running through the set at practice, but just cannot wear them in live or when writing/jamming.
