What's up guys. My name's George. I'm seventeen and I've been playing bass for almost 4 years now. I currently am playing a Peavey Fury II jazz bass and I'm hoping to get something a little more fancy to play around with, but due to finances (and the fact that I'm left handed) searching has been pretty slow.

I hope to get to know you all well with time!

Looks like its my turn now. I have been playing for about 3 years if i remember right. Im in a band with 2 bass players, an insane drummer, and a guitar player(I guess). I am still playing my first bass, Ibanez, but I recently got a fender fretless jazz bass that I plan to hotrod, and a acoustic/electric 7 string fretless bass that needs some loving to make it work.

Didn't see this here a minute ago.... Here goes.... I am a 31 yr old Mechanical Inspector (Petrochemical), married, with an awesome & inquisitive 3 yr old.... Lived in TX all my life. I currently reside outside of the Corpus Christi area, and work near Victoria (I know it's a hell of a trek...). I have been playing now for almost 12 years, but took a break from gigging 3 years ago to welcome my first child into the world... Mostly rock, metal, grind, hardcore kinda stuff... Spanning through about a dozen different bands, mostly with the same 10 or 12 or so band members... :D

Anyway, a couple of my closest buddies (and X-band mates) moved to Austin and started a band and recently fired their bass player.... I was heading up one weekend to visit and was asked to bring my gear just to have a friendly "Drink Beer & Jam" session... And of course I was hired on (The drummer has been in 3 of my other bands and the guitar/singer has been a good close friend for about 13 years)... Anyway I'm also toying with some solo stuff to keep me occupied between trips.... Anyway, I'll stop rambling..... Peace....

Gday all
I have never been able to play and instrument ever (bar recorder - haha) and at one point i thought i had no musical bone in my body haha, but this year dad mentioned about his old 1970s Fender P bass, i thought why not ill give it a go.

I love bass soo much now, much fun, even though i am **** and started 4 months ago i love it. Found talkbass by google, looked around its great helping me with all different things such as practice to what amp i will be getting.
Well thats my story haha.

Wow lucky you starting on a 1970 p bass that thing must be worth a fortune, treat it well. Amazing bass, I love the P-bass tone.

G'day from the G'day capital of the world:p. I'm Ben. I'm a guitarist - no, don't shoot! - in a band, and I'm starting to play some bass on the side, with a view to making the switch permanently somewhere down the line. I played some bass before I played guitar, and achieved a (barely) passable level of playing skill, but I've got a truckload more to learn about advanced technique, composition, and of course, gear. This looks like an excellent place to pick up some tips! I am a mediocre (at best) musician with an irritating (at best) personality, but I'm looking forward to learning from and chatting with you people. Glad to be here! :)

Hey guyz :D im dylan from nc usa, ive been playing bass for about 3 years, im 16 now, i like to stick to the classic's but i also like to try out new rock and metal. i own a peavey cirrus 4 string and its wicked! really nice bass for anyone intermediate to play on. my rig is an swr 4x10 with a hartke 5000 head. nice punchy sound :) i play in a couple duets, school jazz band, and a rock band in progress (need singer an drummer)...but thats abt it...keep it rockin guyz /,,/
