    I really like the fast response of Spiro's but i have grown tired of the metallic sound of them. I have recently tried out Obligato and Evah Pirazzi and they come closer to the "wood like" sound I'm going for but they are not as "fast" as I would like them to be. Any recommendations?

    Just as I gave up on ever being able to identify this instrument precisely, I stumbled upon this name printed on the bass bar. It says Thomas. Just wondered if any of you guys have ever seen that before? Could it be the original builder or just the guy putting in a new bass bar?
