    How do you learn by ear?

    Solfege If the chord sounds Sad, it's not going to be major. Pick some of your favorite songs, try singing them! You'll know how it sounds in your head, play the same notes on your bass, guitar, piano, whistle etc

    Thanks!! You guys are very helpful! Half-Diminished (Symbol: diminished with a slash through it) A half-diminished 7th chord = minor 7b5. Diminished is all minor thirds, so it's 1, b3, b5, and bb7. That's a double flatted 7 (enharmonic equivalent of the 6), a Cdim7 would be C Eb Gb Bbb,(A)

    Instead of playing an E major scale on your E string A string and D string Just play it on your E string open string (E) 2fret (F#) 4th fret (G#) 5th fret (A) Just go up your string Then do that with the E blues scale on your E string etc.
