I'm about to pull the trigger on the super twin because i was worried the big twin 3 would cause issues in a live band mix with the kick drum. I play in a jam band with a passive 5 string Jazz and was tempted to hear that low B in its full glory. What's your experience with that?

I'm headed out next week to go test the Mesa Subway 410. Although they both sound like they could be incredible, I think the Mesa is going to suit my needs and playing style better. Thank you all for your help! I'll let you know what happens.

What your describing is what I'm looking for. I like my PJ but I tend to play more like a jazz bass player. I play more melodicly than most bassists and with some quicker funkier leanings and too much low end just makes all the notes smear together.

Could you clarify what you mean by the difference in taste? There's a few Mesa dealers near me but I have no access to barefaced to be able to make any clear distinction.

Is there any particular reason you lab to a 2x12 over a 4x10?

I have an ampeg ba-210 v2 that I love the sound of, but she needs some work. Maybe I'll just throw it on top of the 2x10 I already have for the time being and see if that solves my conundrum instead of dropping 2k on a new cab.

That fact hadn't even crossed my mind. That's a very good point. I was more worried about the size of the cab giving the speakers room to breathe and forgot about ohms.
