TC electronic RS115 cab. Interesting

I just received an email about a new 115 cab by TCE. [Invalid or Expired Link Removed]

Kind of interesting. It will work with the 210 or 212 cabs if they are horizontal ( same width ) or a 410 cab.

I think I'd rather go with another 212 if I had the need. I'm pleasantly surprised the RS line is still getting added to.

Hmm...I wasn't digging the K cabs and this is completely unimpressive to me. They should have had a 115 a long time ago. The idea of stacking with the other RS cabinets means it's hAAAAAAuge! Ok, an exaggeration....but 60lbs? the size of a 410? I'll pass on being interested.

Like the idea of a 115, but even with a horizontal RS212 on top, the 212 will still be rather low. I use an RS21 & RS210 stacked horizontally on top of the road case for the RS212 and it's the perfect height to be heard easily onstage. I would rather see a 115 4 0hm cab to get the most out of the BH250 head in a single cab.

It sure seems like a big heavy cab for one speaker. One speaker means all the power through one voicecoil. It seems that the same power going through multiple voice coils would put less thermal stress on each voice coil. Then again, maybe only requiring one speaker will make it the cheapest of their RS cabs after the RS112.

I'm guessing they see lots of 115 cabs being sold, and figure that some people just want 15s.. and they are leaving money on the table... Maybe it's tuned a lot lower than the other RS cabs for more bottom end. Interesting and curious.

I currently am using the rh750 and the rs212 on top of an ashdown mag115. The ashdown is only pushing 250w and doesn't have the oomph I really want, although it does fill in the lower frequencies rather nicely. I think with the extra 150w I'll be getting exactly what I need. Especially since they'll be a matched pair. Maybe I'll take tc up on their 3 cab combo and look into a rs210 in the near future. Some call it overkill, I say bring it.

I have the RH750 and one RS212 coming today. Initially, I'm thinking of adding another RS212, I'm going to try it under my SWR Son of Bertha "15 first and see how it sounds. I'm excited to see what I'm working with.

I got the two RS 212s and the rig sounds great. I also sounded pretty good under the SWR 15".
