Squier Vintage Modified Jaguar Bass Special w/ Humbucker $115.00 on Reverb.com!

got it last Friday - a bargain for sure, honks a little with mid & treble boosted & mine's heavier than I expected. We'll put it through the paces & see if I just leave it as it came. Either the pickup or circuitry is a little too thin sounding to my ear, maybe changing to strings I like will...

    New from Squier 2010

saw one in a Guitar Center store in Jersey, priced at $349. more orange than pink, feels like a jazz neck ( again, should be maple fingerboard, but think the comment here about Squier not doing maple well explains that ), very lightweight. Played nice, didn't have to plug it in, it's a good...

My bass gear history. What's yours?

very cool to read about everyone's stuff! too lazy to put everything in detail, in my case, my main set-ups went like this: at first: '60's Gibson EB-0 through an Ampeg Portaflex and/or Fender Bassman arising out of the muck: '70's Fender Precision through Ampeg V-4's to remind the guitar...

Call off the dogs, the search is over for the best bass ever

last time I breezed through GC I played a really nice silver sparkle MM 5 string. I'm a Fender purist & don't own or expect to ever play a 5, but that was the best playing bass in the joint.

Unlined fretless- adding extra side (not front) markers?

when I built a 30" scale electric upright bass (a la Krappy ), I had trouble finding the notes, that short scale was new to me. Bought position marker material ( little toothpick width plastic dowels ) online, and put them on the side of the fingerboard by drilling little holes, sanding off...

This makes me really want a p bass

great tone, whatever it was played on in the studio, nice musicianship. here's a little one that got away trivia: as a kid, i was the paperboy in the neighborhood of the original 4 Seasons & knowing i was a playing a crap bass in someone's garage, one of their mother's offered me a bass...
