I played in one band that had a rhythm guitar. I didn't like it. Call me crazy, but I like that difference in the sound when the guitar player drops out to solo. It just feels better to me.

Things that annoy me: -Bands that switch instraments every few songs. -Bands that judge me based on what I'm wearing. I guess I was wrong when I thought we were out of high school. -Arrogant, stuck-up, we're better than you will ever be, bands.

Why not learn both ways? I normally bounce off the string with my thumb, but I've also learned how to go through it in case I really have to pull out the double thump.

A pedal sounds different in a band situation than at home! I'm sure you know this. So when should I dial in my pedal? Aren't rehearsels for this type of thing, to get everyone and everything sounding great. I would rather waste 30 seconds of rehearsel time than waste 30 seconds on stage at...

I've been in this situation, not from your end but the bands. Once you (the band) does something wrong a few times it's in your head that way no matter what anyone yells at you. Take a break, play a jam, just do something else for a few minutes. Let everyone cool down and not think about...

Is it really noodling if you are trying to get your pedal to sound right? I've had new pedals, got them sounding perfect at home, but in a band setting it blew. I then had to mess around to get a good sound. If anyone would have said that to me I would have turned up my amp and kept doing...

^Why? Yes, you should pay the owner of the pa a little extra. Could you rent a pa for $20? If something goes wrong, blow an amp, a speaker, anything, he has to pay to replace it.
