How often do you play the best of your basses?

I know what you are talking about! Plus the smiling faces when I get in a bar or restaurant with the gigbag (and comments like "does the show already start?" or "play the wedding song please!"). But I find It funny too! And most of all, I do not worry about the instrument.

I never leave an instrument alone. Not in the car, not backstage, nowhere. When I am gigging the instrument goes where I go in it's gigbag. I know more than ten musicians who lost an instrument (or a wallet) by leaving them in the car or backstage.

Thanks for the wishes guys. Hey Matt, the States must do something better than us in Greece, to be able to be such a powerful country in only 239 years of existence, don't they? :)

How often do you play the best of your basses?

Yes, I think you all are right. The instruments are made to be played, and not for the shelf. A risk is always around, but the pleasure of playing it is there too. And yes the things are just that bad. Most people lost their jobs and the basic salary is 300-400 euros (about 500 $). Last night I...

I live in Greece, where no insurance company would insure an instrument. I did my research for that a year ago.

How often do you play the best of your basses?

Last year I was lucky enough to welcome a Fodera Emperor Elite at home! Testing the bass in many gigs, I fell in love with the instrument for the second time (the first was when I first played it in a friends house). Great sounds, great playability, the favourite of every soundman etc. As the...

    Fretted to fretless

Sorry, I live in Greece. It will cost too much for that bass to come here. It's something about the ebonol fingerboards. I don't like the sound at all. I really prefer rosewood for a fretboard, especialy on fretless basses. Since you mentioned Gary Willis, his Japanese signature bass used to...

I believe that the luthier will fill the gaps with pieces of maple.

    Fretted to fretless

Oh I forgot to mention that I do play fretless many years, and I am good at it. I used to own a nice handmade fretless but changed it for the Pedulla V (because the value of the Pedulla is by far better ). I don't really like the Squier thing, I need something better. And I like both 4 and 5...

    Fretted to fretless

Hello everybody!! I am the lucky owner of 2 great Pedulla Basses, a thunderbass 4 (1986) and a thunderbass5 (1993). Both have bartolini humbuckers, the 4 has an old Bartolini (volume, blend, tone) preamp, and the 5 has a newer Bartolini (volume, blend, bass, treble & mid switch) preamp. I need a...

    John Patitucci's new bass

Have you seen John Patitucci's new electric bass? Do you have any information about it?

    Delano Pickups

There is a big problem with Delano pickups. It masks the personality of the instrument. If you put delano pickups in a 200Euro instrument, they will make it sound like a 1500Euro one. But if you put them in a 3000Euro instrument, they will also make it sound like a 1500Euro one. I own 2...
